The OECD Development Centre, the Austrian Development Cooperation and UN Women are hosting a Regional Policy Dialogue for Eastern Europe and the Caucasus to launch the  SIGI 2019 Regional Report for Eurasia on May 15 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The report looks at the gaps that legislation, social norms and practices create between women and men in terms of rights and opportunities. The event will highlight the SIGI 2019 key messages and inform policy debates on social norms and discrimination against women and girls across the region. Speakers will share insights on how gender-transformative policies and innovative programmes can challenge gender norms and promote women’s rights, to tackle violence against women and further women’s economic empowerment in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.
